Dr. Franklin is a Board certified diagnostic radiologist who has special expertise in angiography and interventional radiology, with a special interest in uroradiology. He also is Board certified in urology.

Following the completion of a urology residency at Parkland Hospital at the University of Texas in Dallas, Dr. Franklin continued his training in radiology there for three years. He also completed a fellowship in interventional radiology and angiography at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He received his Medical Degree and his undertgraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta.

Dr. Franklin served as Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Orlando Regional Medical Center, and he is a member of several general and specialty medical societies.
