Oncologic Imaging

MCRG provides Cancer imaging and interpretation for University of Florida Cancer Center at Orlando Health as well as the many private Oncology practices in the Central Florida community. Imaging technology management, study review and interpretation, and physician consultation are centerpieces of the practice.

State Of The Art Technology, Including:

  • PET/CT
  • MRI spectroscopy
  • CT angiography, and Imaging –driven biopsies/intervention are just part of the practice
  • Dedicated, Board Certified Radiologists provide service 24 hours/7days a week to include emergencies.

Oncologic imaging is vital to the selection, monitoring and evaluation of cancer therapy. MCRG has a team of oncologic radiologists with specialty expertise in functional (PET), anatomic (CT/MR), and interventional oncology (percutaneous biopsy and endovascular therapy). This expertise, combined with the multidisciplinary approach to cancer management, gives patients the best treatment strategies.

Our department was one of the first in Florida to offer PET imaging. We now have four dedicated PET/CT scanners in our system combined with the only 320 row sub-second volume CT scanner to provide both anatomic and perfusion data for monitoring treatment response. Almost all imaging is acquired as a volume data set so that reconstructions can be performed in multiple planes to assist with radiation therapy planning and surgical excision.

MCRG radiologists participate in clinical trials overseen by University of Florida Cancer Center at Orlando Health. Tumor volume is measured on every post treatment CT to determine efficacy of therapy. We also offer a low dose lung cancer screening CT program where patients receive same-day imaging results and thoracic surgery consultation.

Our Interventional Section Provides:

  • Percutaneous image guided biopsy
  • Chemoembolization
  • Tumor ablation
  • Endovascular radiation therapy

Weekly conferences in thoracic, gastrointestinal/colorectal, genitourinary, breast and gynecologic oncology as well as melanoma/sarcoma, leukemia/lymphoma provide a venue to discuss the latest treatment strategies and perform radiologic and pathologic correlation.
