Pediatric Radiology

Our pediatric radiologists are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care for infants and children in Central Florida in a safe and comfortable environment. We have six fellowship trained pediatric radiologists who are board certified in both diagnostic radiology and pediatric radiology. We are committed to imaging children with the lowest radiation dose possible, following the principles of the Image Gently Campaign of the Society of Pediatric Radiology.

MCRG provides sub-specialty pediatric and neonatal care for Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies. Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children has been recognized by US News and World Report as a top hospital for seven specialties, and was the only recognized hospital in Central Florida.

Our pediatric radiologists provide 24/7 coverage for emergent pediatric and neonatal fluoroscopic emergencies. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Winnie Palmer is one of the largest in the nation with 142 beds.

Taking care of children not only requires state-of-the-art low-dose equipment, but emphasis and expertise in ultrasound and MRI. We currently utilize the Siemens Definition Flash CT, and Siemen Luminos Agile Fluoroscopy, which has some of the lowest dose techniques nationwide. We have also streamlined our protocols so that sonography is our workhouse modality, and the first line of screening for children with suspected appendicitis or intussusception. MR Enterography has nearly completely replaced small bowel x-ray studies for children with inflammatory bowel disease. With the 3T magnet, we are able to image joints, the brain, and spine in exquisite detail, even in a small infant.

Patients at Arnold Palmer Medical Center can expect the highest quality of care from our pediatric team.
