Women's Imaging

The specialty of women’s imaging represents one of the most innovative and dynamic segments of radiology. Providing world-class breast imaging and intervention, our team collaborates with dedicated physicians throughout Central Florida, including practitioners at the UF Breast Care Center at Orlando Health. This multidisciplinary clinic has earned a three-year accreditation through the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). A consortium of national professional organizations, this voluntary program is focused on breast health and dedicated to the improvement of quality care and outcomes of patients with diseases of the breast through evidence-based standards as well as patient and professional education. The services we provide include screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), image guided breast and lymph node biopsies, basic genetic risk assessment and patient counseling.

Our physicians excel in integrating imaging information across a range of modalities to positively impact patient outcome by knowledgeably guiding treatment decisions made by breast surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and plastic surgeons. Collaboration is critical to the success of the Breast Care Center, manifested daily through our availability to provide immediate imaging and intervention consultations, and through our weekly participation in the interdisciplinary breast cancer conference.

MCRG’s breast imaging team brings to each patient encounter decades of experience in the management of both benign and malignant breast disease. The section’s focus on quality evaluation and management is recognized nationally, their ORMC site having been awarded the Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) designation by the American College of Radiology (ACR). This distinction is awarded by achieving and maintaining accreditation in breast ultrasound, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast MRI in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program through the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Extending MCRG’s impact by donating time and talent, we cooperate with local agencies to provide care for the financially disadvantaged.

Our team demonstrates a deep commitment to women’s health on a local, regional, and national level through their focus on personal accountability, organizational involvement, professional education, peer review, continuous quality improvement and community outreach.
